Parish Picnic & Outdoor ServiceSunday, September 1 at 10am The Parish of the Valley annual Labour Day Weekend Outdoor Service and Parish Picnic is happening Sunday, September 1st at 10am at St. Stephen's Micksburg (2785 Micksburg Road). All are invited to join in an outdoor service in the church yard at St. Stephen's, followed by a picnic lunch. The picnic lunch will be a true potluck - please bring a dish to share! In addition to food for the potluck, please bring your own lawn chair and sun hat. This will be the only service in the Parish of the Valley on Sunday, September 1st, and it will be the first service in our parish for our new Associate Incumbent, the Rev. Christine Muise. In case of rain, the service will take place in the church, and we will gather for the potluck inside the Micksburg Community Hall, located next St. Stephen's. Parish of the Valley Celebration of New MinistrySaturday, September 21 at 3pm A Celebration of New Ministry for the Rev. Christine Muise and the Valley clergy team will be held on Saturday, September 21st at 3pm in Holy Trinity Pembroke. Archdeacon Patrick Stephens will preside. The preacher will be the Most Reverend John Privett, retired Archbishop of Kootenay and past Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and Yukon. Archbishop John is a dear friend and spiritual mentor to Rev. Christine and will deliver his homily via video. The service will also be live-streamed for the benefit of Rev. Christine’s family and friends across Canada. A light reception will follow. All members of our parish are warmly invited to attend as we celebrate with our clergy team! |
Cobden Fair Ecumenical ServiceSunday, August 25 at 10am Sunday, August 25th is the annual Cobden Fair Ecumenical Service. All are invited to the service, held at 10am at the Cobden fairgrounds. There will be no service in Stafford/Micksburg/Rankin or at St. Paul's Cobden on this date. |
Impact Zambia
Rev. Allan Studd and Wendy Wilker-Blakley, along with other members of the Impact Zambia team, left for Zambia on July 30th. They will return to Canada on August 19th. Please keep the whole team: Allan, Wendy, Lianti, Bonnie, Connie, Heather, Kim and Hugh, in your prayers. We pray for safe travels within Zambia and on their return home, for health for all of the team members, and for the relationships with the people they encounter. Sean McCann in Concert at Holy Trinity Pembroke!Friday, October 18 at 7pm We are pleased to share that well-known Canadian singer-songwriter Séan McCann, a founding member of the celebrated Newfoundland and Labrador band Great Big Sea, will play a solo acoustic concert in Holy Trinity Pembroke at 7pm on Friday, October 18th. Séan is a thirteen time Juno award nominated artist (with Great Big Sea) and a Member of the Order of Canada, whose career in Canadian music has spanned four decades. Tickets for the concert are $40 in advance, and $50 at the door. Advance tickets can only be purchased through Séan's website, at the link below. Séan will be performing songs from the full length of his career, including many Great Big Sea favourites. Please buy your tickets early!
