We are a parish of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, a regional expression of the Anglican Church of Canada, and part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. The Diocese of Ottawa includes the cities of Ottawa and Gatineau, reaches down to the St Lawrence River at Cornwall, up through the Gatineau Hills to Chelsea and Wakefield, up the Ottawa River Valley past Shawville (QC) and Pembroke (ON), and down along Highway 60 to Algonquin Park. We are a diocese of rivers and lakes, of farms and forest, and of cities and towns, big and small.
As a Creedal church, we proclaim and celebrate the gospel of Jesus Christ in worship and action. We value our heritage of biblical faith, reason, and tradition. We acknowledge that God is calling us to greater diversity of membership, wider participation in ministry and leadership, better stewardship in God’s creation, and a stronger resolve in challenging attitudes and structures that cause injustice. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to respond to this call in love and service and so more fully live the life of Christ.
With historic roots in the British Isles, our contemporary expression of faith has been uniquely shaped by a long history in a Canadian context. We are progressive church, open to the leading of the Spirit in this time and place. We are committed to healing and reconciliation with the First Peoples of Canada. We seek the full inclusion of all people, and are committed to serving the poor, and working for economic equality for all people.
