"Are you the one who is to come, or are we to wait for another?" is the question from the great New Testament Prophet, John the Baptist, to Jesus. John, imprisoned by Herod, sends his doubts to Jesus and Jesus responds in a way that reminds us that Jesus is the one who holds together all of our hopes and our fears. That even in a season as joyful as the days leading up to Chrsitmas, sorrow is real and okay and Jesus is there to embrace us in it all.
