I was blessed to be born into a family with strong Christian values and grew up in a very small English protestant church in a large French roman catholic community. The church was so small that we had no clergy of our own and were led by a rotation of ministers from a wide variety of denominations. When we moved to a larger community we attended the Anglican church where I was confirmed, and I have remained in the Anglican church ever since. Well, with the exception of my high school years where my form of rebellion meant attending the United Church!
In 1981 I started attending Holy Trinity where I have participated in many ways. I taught Sunday School for about ten years and co-ordinated for three, was coffee co-ordinator for a few years and took my place washing dishes before we had the dishwasher. I also led Prayers of the People and was a reader. In 2008 I started training as an altar server, a role I still fill today. More recently I joined the Altar Guild.
Training as a lay reader has been something I have felt called to do several times in my life in the Holy Trinity family, and finally, with the help of our Parish of the Valley clergy felt able to say “Yes”. It has been an amazing time of study and discovery and of developing relationship with God and within the whole Parish. Thank you all!
