Each Lent we share a number of daily devotional reflections that parishioners may enjoy adding to their daily prayer practices throughout the season. This year we again have some familliar and some new suggestions for you to consider.

The Primate's World Relief & Development Fund (Alongside Hope) again offers a daily reflection, "Living into God's Dream." This daily email Lenten resource weaves together scripture, reflection and prayer with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Anglican Marks of Mission. Written by the Rev. Jonathan Rowe of the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador, the resource also offers the reader opportunity to reflect on questions, both personal and corporate and to learn more about Alongside Hope’s partners. A Lenten Journey in the Holy Land is a six week video and study program prepared by the staff of St. George's College Jerusalem and offered by the Canadian Campaign for supporting the College. You can find all six weeks of materials here.

Episcopal Relief and Development, the American counterpart to PWRDF, is offering a daily reflection written by renowned author Jerusalem Jackson Greer that calls us to celebrate our common life. Titling the meditations “A Commonplace Lent,” Greer celebrates the everyday human experience–prayer, worship, grace, love, community and service as well as our relationship to nature. Using monastic wisdom as her starting point, she highlights the divine gifts that come from community. You can learn more and sign up for them here.

Lent Madness is a fun and interactive daily Lenten practice where we learn about the different people listed in the Church Calendar of Saints. It is in the format of a tournament-style elimination bracket and each day you can vote for one of the profiled saints. You can read about the saints each day on their website here, or on their Facebook page. Read and learn and then join in the voting and see which saint will be crowned with the Golden Halo!
